3.NewspaperSG was officially launched today by Guest of Honour, Mr Sam Tan, Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts. At the launch, past issues of Singapore's major newspapers such as The Straits Times (dating as far back to its first issue on 15 July 1845 to 2006) are made available for access at NLB's libraries. For off-site access (i.e. via the Internet outside of NLB's libraries), only past issues from 1845 to 1989 will be available. Preview issues of TODAY and Weekend TODAY were also available at launch, with issues dating from 2005 to 2008 to be fully available from April 2010.
