Abstract
For a long time, we have been engaged in evaluating the effects of light colors on landscape lighting quantificationally and quantitatively, as well as studying on the landscape lightings in snowy areas. Firstly, illuminated nighttime views with and without snow overlay are photographed. Then, from these photos, sample images for study are created by changing the hues of the light sources using computer software. In an evaluation on a sample image, subjects are asked to express their impressions of the sample image by the SD method. Judging from the results of the evaluations, guidelines for landscape lighting in snowy areas are derived.
