Illumination is said to be a part of a culture, and the culture is closely related to races and ethnic groups. As we travel in various countries in Asia, we often feel some kind of nostalgia in illumination, as if we are still in Japan. The special topic, "Illuminations in Neighboring Countries", introduces situations surrounding illuminations in the neighboring countries, which are making contributions along with us to the further development of Asia. The Part I gives a highlight on China that is now called the World's Factory, and going through remarkable development. This article also introduces types of lamps and illumination equipment manufactured and commercially available in China.
