Abstract
The Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers is made up of professionals, and is involved with various activities, in areas where Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers coexist. This article gives introductions to an establishment and history of the Institute, its successive chairmen, and its current members. In addition, as its academic achievements, this article provides details about academic and research paper journals it has issued, as well as academic presentation events and study group activities it led in these areas. The article also gives reports on an exhibition it held for new technologies and excellent products developed by cooperation between industry and academia. Other activities conducted by the Institute include international exchanges, CIE activities, and establishment of illumination designer certification programs. The author hopes this article to be the important documentations for promoting constructive international exchanges between the Institutes of Korea and Japan, by providing information for each of these countries.
